BORA - hansgrohe riders took home a total of eight medals in their respective national championship races. One of the highlights is without doubt the win of Alexander Hajek in the Austrian road race, with the youngster taking the title on a tough course. Over in Germany, another youngster Florian Lipowitz took second place in the road race, making for a total of five BORA-hansgrohe riders in the top ten in Bad Dürrheim. Teammates Jordi Meeus and Frederik Wandahl also secured bronze medals amidst tough competition in the Belgian and Danish road races respectively.&nbsp;In the time trial discipline, Flip Maciejuk took home the jersey at the Polish championships with a strong performance. Teammates Patrick Gamper, Maximilian Schachmann and Ryan Mullen all took home silver medals in the Austrian, German and Irish championships respectively.&nbsp;From the Finish LineAlexander Hajek:&nbsp;<blockquote>It’s unbelievable. I’m really over the moon and didn’t really expect that I’d become national champion today. It was a really tough race right from the start, which we anticipated. Marco Brenner was strong today, he deserves the win.</blockquote>&nbsp;Frederik Wandahl:<blockquote>It was a really hard day of racing, full gas for 200km. It’s typical of our national championship races, with the race opening up, then closing down, and opening up once more. The final 30m was, accordingly, full of attacks. At under 10km remaining, I went together with Kasper, Michael and Rasmus. We managed to go clear and in the end it came down to a sprint between us for the win. I thought I could take the victory, but in the end I had to settle for third place. The other two guys were just better on the day. However, it was still a pretty good race for me on a parcours that wasn’t necessarily ideal. I made the most of it, and am satisfied with a podium result, even though I’d for sure loved to have taken home the jersey.</blockquote>&nbsp;Rolf Aldag:&nbsp;<blockquote>The championships are very difficult and special races each year, a lot can always happen here. Our riders fought hard and gave their all - with two championship jerseys and a total of eight medals, it's a solid performance. Die Meisterschaft in Dänemark verläuft oft sehr ähnlich. Es gibt viele Attacken, danach läuft alles wieder zusammen, dann wieder Attacken. Auf den letzten 30km wurden ständig Angriffe gefahren. 10km vor dem Ziel habe ich es mit drei Fahrern versucht, wir konnten uns vom Feld lösen und schlussendlich um den Sieg sprinten. Am Ende musste ich mich mit Platz 3 begnügen, die anderen zwei Jungs waren einfach schneller heute. Die Strecke kam mir nicht wirklich entgegen, deshalb bin ich insgesamt zufrieden mit meinem Rennen - auch wenn ich das Trikot natürlich sehr gerne geholt hätte.</blockquote>&nbsp;Rolf Aldag:&nbsp;<blockquote>Die Meisterschaften sind jedes Jahr sehr schwere und spezielle Rennen, hier kann immer viel passieren. Natürlich schmerzt es aber auch, das Trikot des Deutschen Meisters erstmals seit 2020 nicht in unseren Reihen zu haben. Giovanni Aleotti is the winner of the Tour of Slovenia 2024. The 25-year-old Italian from BORA - hansgrohe successfully defended his overall lead on the extremely contested final stage of the five-day race, winning the overall classification by ten seconds ahead of Spaniard Pello Bilbao and 26 seconds ahead of fellow Italian Giulio Pellizzari.Especially Bilbao, Briton Paul Double, and Irishman Ben Healy, who won today’s stage, tried everything on the 156.9 km section from Šentjernej to Novo mesto to unseat Aleotti from his lead. However, Aleotti and his BORA - hansgrohe teammates remained calm despite the slightly chaotic race situation and managed to neutralize all attacks. Giovanni Aleotti ist Sieger der Tour of Slovenia 2024. Der 25-jährige Italiener aus den Reihen von BORA - hansgrohe konnte auf der extrem umkämpften Schlussetappe der fünftägigen Rundfahrt die Gesamtführung verteidigen. Am Ende gewann er das Rennen mit zehn Sekunden Vorsprung auf den Spanier Pello Bilbao und mit 26 Sekunden vor dem Italiener Giulio Pellizzari.Insbesondere Bilbao, der Brite Paul Double und der Ire Ben Healy, der heute Tagessieger wurde, hatten auf dem 156,9 Kilometer langen Tagesabschnitt von Šentjernej nach Novo mesto noch einmal alles versucht, um Aleotti von der Führungsposition zu verdrängen. Today’s fourth stage of the Tour of Slovenia was the queen stage of the five-day race. The finish in Krvavec, at an altitude of 1,587 meters, provided the setting for the only mountain finish of the race.&nbsp;For BORA - hansgrohe, the goal was to defend the leader’s jersey claimed yesterday by Giovanni Aleotti. The 25-year-old Italian accomplished this brilliantly, as Aleotti resisted all attacks from the competitors on the eleven-kilometre-long final climb. Although Spaniard Pello Bilbao pulled away slightly in the final meters, Aleotti crossed the finish line just three seconds later as the third-place finisher. A courageous attack that was rewarded with victory – in the final of today's third stage of the Tour of Slovenia from Ljubljana to Nova Gorica, BORA - hansgrohe rider Giovanni Aleotti put on a spectacular show.&nbsp;After keeping up with the best on the final climb, the 25-year-old Italian broke away from the group of favourites on the final descent and celebrated an impressive solo victory. After 160.5 kilometres, Aleotti won with an eleven-second lead over Jhonatan Narváez (Ecuador) and Jordan Jegat (France).
