With 9th in the GC, Max Schachmann secures a top 10 finish at the five-day Renewi Tour (2. UWT) in Belgium and the Netherlands. After three stages for the sprinters and a time trial, it was onto the roads of the spring classics on the final day of the race. With Sam Welsford and Marco Haller in the breakaway of the day and Max Schachmann among the favourites, everything went according to plan for Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe. In the finale around Geraardsbergen, Schachmann presented himself in strong form and was able to consolidate his top 10 position in the overall classification.

“Overall, the Renewi Tour didn't quite go according to our expectations. We would have expected more, especially on the sprint stages. But the boys rode really well today. Marco and Sam were in the group of the day, Ryan and Filip controlled the peloton. Max was strong in the finale and attacked several times. We can be satisfied with today's stage.
