Dan Lorang to coach Red Bull athletes from 2026 season

From next season, Red Bull athletes in all endurance sports will be able to count on the expertise of Dan Lorang. The 45-year-old Luxembourger currently heads the Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe coaching team. In his new role, Dan Lorang will continue to coach individual riders from the German UCI WorldTeam.

In recent months, Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe has benefited from the performance expertise that majority shareholder Red Bull brings to the partnership. Sports medicine, nutrition, mental performance - the team attracted experts with a Red Bull background in strategically important areas. Now the synergies are going both ways to leverage the cycling know-how for the entire athlete pool.

"Synergies are not a one-way street. We use the enormous knowledge of Red Bull to make the leap to the top, and vice versa, other units and athletes develop with our know-how. In many endurance sports, cycling is simply the benchmark. I would like to thank Dan for his tremendous commitment over the years. As Director of Coaching & Sports Science, he has shaped our riders and the team; with him, we have established ourselves among the top teams in the sport. I am very pleased that we will be able to continue to build on Dan's extensive experience as a coach in the future.

Dan Lorang will be coaching more Red Bull athletes in the future. This will also include Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe riders. He is one of the most successful endurance coaches in the world. Athletes coached by him have won some of the biggest bike races, Ironman World Championships and Olympic gold medals.

"Nine years ago, Ralph Denk gave me the opportunity to become part of an incredibly exciting project. During this time, I had the privilege of celebrating many successes with the team but also experiencing setbacks together. In my various roles, I have always felt the team’s trust and appreciation – something I am truly grateful for. That’s why I am even more excited to remain connected to the team in the future while also continuing to pursue my passion for coaching within the Red Bull universe. This will allow me to support not only cyclists but also athletes from other sports on their path to success."
