BORA hansgrohe German Professional Cycling

Preview of the 2025 season: our nine new riders (part 3/3)

Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe will start the new year with 29 riders and a new jersey design. The fresh look will make its racing debut at the Australian Championships. On 12 January, Jai Hindley and Sam Welsford will be the first riders to race in the 2025 kit. This marks the start of the ‘Down Under’ block of races, which runs until early February and will dominate the first few weeks of the new season: Down Under Classic, Santos Tour Down Under, Surf Coast Classic and the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race. Ahead of the races, we take a look at the nine new additions to the Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe team. In the third part:

Mick van Dijke
With Mick and his twin brother Tim there is further reinforcement for the one-day races. The "big guys" from Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe will impress with their physicality. In addition to Mick and Tim, Jonas Koch, Oier Lazkano, Filip Maciejuk, Jordi Meeus and Ryan Mullen all stand around 1.90 meters tall. Physical presence is important on the cobblestones, but also in the constant position battles of the classics. Here Mick feels comfortable with his power, which he can also use in time trials. This is the first team change for Mick in his young career. Race debut in the new outfit? At the opening weekend, of course - the 24-year-old's favorite terrain.

Tim van Dijke
April 7, 2024 - Tim arrives at the Roubaix velodrome between Laurence Pithie and Jordi Meeus. It was the first time he had ridden the Monument with his brother. And they made good use of the day: Both were at the front when the peloton split, and Tim went into the finale with the top ten riders. It's clear that these races suit him. In addition to pure power, Tim also has explosiveness. An ability that he can also use outside the classics season to support the successful sprint train of Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe. Also for Tim the race name says it all: the Opening Weekend will be the season opener.

Maxim Van Gils
Maxim was the ninth transfer of the winter. He brings even more one-day racing talent to Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe. In addition to the depth the team will have for the cobbled classics in 2025, Maxim offers new options for the Ardennes and one-day races with lots of climbing. He is coming off an impressive season in the classics: 3rd at Strade Bianche and Flèche, 4th at Liège, then winning the Frankfurt Classic and just missing the podium at the end of the season in Montreal. This consistency of results is a testament to his talent, potential and strength. To build on his strengths, Maxim's spring highlights are obvious: Strade and the Ardennes.
