Primož Roglič: "I'm ready!"

21 stages, almost 3,500 kilometers, more than 50,000 meters of altitude - these are the usual iconic facts of a Tour de France. But there will be a premiere at the 111th edition: for the first time, the world's most important cycling race will start in Italy. Florence will host the 2024 Grand Depart.

Primož Roglič on finally starting his big goal with Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe:

“It's really nice to be here with our guys. We are looking forward to have fun in France and, of course, in Italy. I'm doing well, I'm ready and I'm looking forward to start on Saturday. Hopefully we can show cycling on the highest level, deliver a good show and a nice battle.”

About the importance of the team:

“Our guys showed in previous races that they are strong. We all know that cycling is a team sport. Each of us eight guys has his own tasks. Often, people just see the finale and a man-to-man battle. It's on us, the last guys, to finish all the work before off in the best way that we can. But before each guy plays his own part in that story.”

About the competition:

“Everyone will have his opportunity. We all start from zero and at the end the best one will win. I don't think so much about all the opponents. We are not the favourites, because we are competing against big champions. But it's not just the favourites - all guys starting at the Tour de France will be ready.”

About the course of the tour:

“If you try to win the Tour de France you have to be there from day one till day 21. I am trying to stay in the moment and follow it day by day. For sure, it will be a big fight already on the first two stages. Then we are going over Galibier on stage four, and then it's the time trial, the gravel stage – it will be a crazy first week and even bigger things will follow.”

About the chance of yellow:

“For me, it's just important to try to go for it. For 100%. Having super good guys around me is a huge support. I cannot wish for more. I just looking forward to start on Saturday and at the end we will see how we will go through this Tour.”
