GRENKE - Auto Eder dominates one-day classics in Luxembourg

Paul Fietzke wins the Grand Prix Général Patton.

The most successful weekend of the year – at the Luxembourg one-day races, Grand Prix Général Patton and Grand Prix Luxembourg, the GRENKE - Auto Eder riders secured two very special victories.

A triple victory is a rarity in cycling. When a team manages to repeat this feat twice in a row, it’s therefore something truly special. This is exactly what happened over the weekend at the Luxembourg one-day races, Grand Prix Général Patton and Grand Prix Luxembourg. In both UCI races, the GRENKE - Auto Eder riders demonstrated that they are among the world elite in junior cycling, dominating the competition.

At the Grand Prix Général Patton on Saturday, it was Paul Fietzke (Germany) and Theodor August Clemmensen (Denmark) who celebrated a double victory after a long breakaway. Anatol Friedl (Austria) completed the perfect podium finish by taking third place. Impressively, with Noah Lindholm Møller Andersen (Denmark, fifth), Patrick Casey (Ireland, eighth), and Kryštof Král (Czech Republic, tenth), all other GRENKE - Auto Eder riders made it into the top ten.

The Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe juniors showcased similar strength on Sunday at the Grand Prix Luxembourg. Here, it was Noah Lindholm Møller Andersen who claimed victory ahead of his teammates Patrick Casey and Paul Fietzke. Anatol Friedl (sixth), Theodor August Clemmensen (ninth), and Kryštof Král (16th) also secured good placements. This excellent form comes at the perfect time: the next race for GRENKE - Auto Eder is the French Ain Bugey Valromey Tour from July 10th to 14th, one of the most important stage races in junior cycling.

Quotes

“This was an outstanding race weekend for us. It's not often that you see such excellent results in a single weekend of racing, so these two races in Luxembourg will be remembered for a long time. We're especially pleased that our riders are in top form just in time for the Ain Bugey Valromey Tour.” – Florian Wallner, Sports Director

“We executed perfect races on both days. Everyone was at the front from the start, and we controlled the races from kilometre 0. Naturally, I’m thrilled that I could cap off the weekend in the right way with a win.“ – Noah Lindholm Møller Andersen

“It couldn't have gone better. On the first day, Theodor and I attacked 80 kilometres from the finish, and the team shielded us from behind. On the second day, it was a similar story – just with different riders. A really great weekend for our team, where we gained a lot of confidence for the upcoming races.” – Paul Fietzke
